At work or at play, it's always busy at Pages Creative

Above and Beyond with Chapter One

Congratulations to Jops Hill and Heidelberg Materials UK for winning the Above and Beyond Award from child literacy charity Chapter One at their Partner, Volunteer and School Recognition Awards. We produced the employee-written children’s book that’s part of the company’s support for Chapter One (see our March 2025 news below). Three of our team joined Jops, who’s Social Value Coordinator for Heidelberg Materials UK, at the London event.

Wheelie good cause

After 25 years at Pages Creative, Mark kicked off his well-earned retirement in typical Mark fashion by cycling from London to Barcelona.

He pedalled 1,400km in 11 days, raising more than £1,000 for Cure Leukaemia’s world-first paediatric transplant trials network.

Winning children’s story is colourful page-turner

Designing for primary school pupils instead of employees, stakeholders or customers was an exciting change for us on a one-off special project. Ewan’s Quarry Adventure won a children’s story writing competition for employees run by our client Heidelberg Materials UK as part of their support for literacy charity Chapter One. The star prize was the winning tale colourfully published – in print and digitally – for use by Chapter One’s school reading volunteers.

Supporting our local food bank

Instead of sending gifts and cards, we’re continuing our tradition of making a charitable donation. This year, we’ve chosen once again to support our local food bank in Cheltenham. The ongoing cost of living crisis has placed tremendous strain on many, and food banks are facing rising demand for assistance. We hope to help make the season a little brighter for those in need.

Our latest win

We’ve won a contract with a major defence company this autumn.

Yes, we said the C word

The leaves have barely turned orange but we’ve already been busy spreading Christmas joy. We’ve designed and produced nearly three quarters of a million tickets for VFM’s autumn and winter shopping fairs. With an emphasis on individuality, the gift, fashion and Christmas fairs showcase the best not-on-the-high-street buys.

Wonder wall

We have just completed a special project for client Wales & West Utilities – creating and installing a visitor experience wallpaper infographic for their flagship hydrogen demonstrator home in Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent. The graphic had to be made to measure to fit the wall dimensions, and features both Welsh and English words.

Magazine rebrand success

Bold, bright and A4 – we’ve redesigned the employee magazine for Heidelberg Materials UK. The key communications channel has a fresh look following the company’s rebrand from Hanson UK to the new identity of its global parent group. We’re now working on the second issue of the revamped team – previously a ‘narrow’ A5 format – for the business, a leading supplier of low carbon heavy building materials.

Our festive donation helps foodbank

We’re again making a charitable donation instead of sending gifts and cards this Christmas. With no let-up in the cost-of-living crisis, we’re supporting our local foodbank in Cheltenham. They’re part of a nationwide network, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger. You can read about their vital work here.

Eye-catching wall gives award-winners star treatment

We’ve helped Wales & West Utilities honour outstanding employees with a new display wall. The editable installation we designed showcases the Celebrating Excellence award-winners front and centre. Along with standout text and branded wallpaper, it includes a screen showing images and videos from the awards’ night. The work, which we conceptualised, project-managed, artworked and installed also involved two photo ‘hero’ walls featuring colleagues from across the business.
