Searching for a work experience placement, I first heard about Pages Creative through their website. Normally at work experience, you’re expected to sit in the corner and make some tea. This wasn’t the case here.

As well as a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, the team is very kind and ready to help. From that first day of doing writing exercises with Jason Ashworth, I knew I was going to learn a lot.

With a focus on writing, I learnt how to write to a word limit, conduct interview questions, compose headlines and how text is laid out on a page. Already, I’d learnt more here than I ever did in my English lessons.

A look at graphic design provided a refreshing break from writing, though no less enjoyable! Also, sitting in on a meeting with one of Pages Creative’s clients was fascinating and taught me the intense detail which goes into building websites.

Being at Pages Creative has offered me an insight into the publishing world. I’ve never felt bored and with a lot of generous help and time from the people here, I have understood a variety of skills which will put me in good stead for the future.
